How to Install a Wall Cabinet

1. To install wall-mounted cabinets, start by determining their positions and drawing a level horizontal line on the wall where the bottom of each cabinet will be located. Double-check your layout by lightly penciling the cabinets' dimensions and placement on the wall.

2. Align the top edge of a temporary 1-by-3 support rail with the line for the bottom edge of the cabinets and drive three or four 2-inch screws through it into the wall studs.

3. Drill pilot holes through the sturdy part of the cabinet back or its support rail into wall studs. Screw the cabinet to the wall using two screws that are long enough to penetrate the studs by at least 1 1/2 inches.
